Feurio ®Professional - Features 

To extend the features of the "normal" Feurio! version (see: "Feurio! Features") Feurio! Professional contains the following additional features:

• Burning with several CD-Writers:
  Feurio!®  Professional is able to start several burn processes simultaneously - it is possible to burn several copies of one project or CD as well as burning several different projects at the same time.
  It is also possible to start a new write task while another write task is still running.

• Synchronous burning:
  Usually a new task is started for each burn process. There are some things you can hardly do this way: A) no multiple copies of one CD on-the-fly (only when using an image), b) the data has to be read from the source (e. g. from a CD) as often as copies are burned - especially the alternate reading from two (or even more) different sources loads the hard disk (it permantly has to switch between two areas) - this will usually result in a buffer underrun because the hard disk can not transfer the data fast enough, c) all task have to be started separately.
  Feurio!®  Professional has a built-in "synchronous copy" function that allows "feeding" several CD-Writers from ONE SOURCE simultaneously. I..e. only ONE buffer will be used for all writers. This has the great advantage that the data only has to be read once - so the hard disk limit is removed! The same way multiple copies of one CD can be burned directly. And all writers can be started with just ONE click!
  Of course this will only work if the writers are running quite synchronous (i. e. the deviation does not exceed the buffer size). This will work best with identical CD-Writers, but we have already successfully tested 7 different CD-Writers! With several SCSI controllers as many writers as you like can be used. .
  Note: Of course all recorders must use the same recording speed, i. e. if an 8x and 4x recorder are used synchronous burning is only possible with 4x. (Note: If e. g. an 8x and a 6x recorder are used 6x can only be used if the 8x recorder supports 6x. Many 8x recorders do NOT support 6x, so in this case 4x would be the highest possible recording speed for synchronous burning!)

• Burning data tracks:
  Feurio!® Professional especially addresses people that are producing CD-R limited-lot productions. Therefore Feurio!® Professional contains the feature to burn data tracks, too. To use this feature you have to download the software NERO® (available from AHEAD®, demo can be downloaded from http://www.ahead.de ) and use it to build an image file of your data. This image file can then be added to a Feurio! project as a track and burned normally.
  Also a "plain-Image-File" that has been build with another software can be used.
  Even Mixed-Mode CDs (i. e. a data track and several audio tracks) can be produced.
  Burning data tracks is ONLY supported on the CD-Writers listed below!
  
  
• Copying data CDs:
  Feurio! Professional can directly copy "normal" data CDs (i. e.. Mode-1, Mode-2 and Mixed-Mode CDs) as well.
  Special formats (CD-I, CD+G etc.), copy-protected CDs (e. g. Playstation games) and Multisession-CDs are not supported.
  
  NOTE: Burning data tracks resp. copying data CDs does not work with some older CD-Writers with a vendor specific command set. Of course it would be possible with this writers too - but probably no one will use "old" recorders for limited-lot productions so we simply didn´t implement it for these devices. And anyway many manufacturers are not very cooperative concerning documentations for their (old) CD-Writers, so implementing this feature is sometimes simply impossible.
  
  Burning data tracks is supported on all CD-Writers supported by Feurio! apart from  some old 2x CD-Writers.
  Burning data tracks is NOT supported on the following CD-Writers:
  • Hewlett-Packard Surestore 4020i/6020i
  • Grundig CDR100IPW
  • Plextor PX-R24
  • Philips CDD 2600/CDD2600/CDD 552, Phillps Omniwriter
  • Ricoh RO-1420C
  • That's Write (Taiyo Yuden) EW-50
  • Kodak PCD225
  • Mitsumi CD-R CR-2401TS, CR-2600, CR-2801
  • Plasmon 4220
  • Ricoh MP6200S/MP6200A
  • Lite-On LTR-511
  • Panasonic (Matsushita) CDR CW 7501
  • Sony 926/928
