Feurio Questions & Answers - Feurio! CD-Writer
problem-solving:
Why doesn't my TEAC CDR-55 show either the CD-R
make or the remaining buffer?
Question: I have got a TEAC® CDR-55/ 50 and an xyz burner. If I insert
a new CD-R into the xyz burner, then Feurio!® tells me the make of the CD-R;
if I insert the same CD-R into the TEAC® CDR-55/50, the vendor is not shown.
Why?
Answer: Unfortunately the TEAC® CDR-55/ 50 is not capable
of reading the make of CD-R or providing the computer with this information.
At a certain position on every CD-R, a code is saved which
identifies the make of the CD-R. This code can normally be read using a certain
command. Unfortunately the TEAC® CDR-55/50 does not support this command
so Feurio!® can not read the make and can thus not provide any information
on it. I have already contacted the development Support at TEAC® but they
couldn't tell me the command either!
Question: I have got a TEAC® CDR-55/ 50 and an xyz burner. When burning
with the xyz burner it shows me the capacity status of the recorder, why doesn't
the TEAC show this?
Answer: Unfortunately there is no command for the TEAC®
CDR-55/ 50 to ask the capacity status of the recorder or I am not aware of the
command - I asked the development Support at TEAC® and they couldn't tell
me the command either!
Comment: I often get Mails like: "The program XYZ show the buffer area, why doesn't
Feurio!® do this as well?" - All programs mentioned here didn't really show
the recorder buffer but the program internal buffer (like the first bar of Feurio!®).
However it is possible that another program knows the command to read the buffer
and then shows it - but all program mentioned so far ONLY show the program internal
buffer (and never the recorder buffer).
