How do I remove the 2 second index-0 for the first
track?
Question: I can change the length
of the Index-0 silence using the parameters dialog for every track except the
first track; for this one it doesn't work, the value always stays at 2 seconds.
How do I delete this Index 0 silence?
Answer: EVERY Audio-CD always has
at least 2 seconds Index 0 silence at the start of the first track. This is stipulated
in the "Red-Book" (the standard for Audio-CDs).
This silence however is NOT played, a CD player ALWAYS starts at position 00:02:00.
Without this silence, the CD would not be a "Red-Book" compatible Audio-CD; most
CD-Players would probably "swallow up" the first 2 seconds or reject the CD!
Comment: Based on this fact ,a project is always shown as being 2 seconds longer
than the selected tracks (i.e. End position - Start position), in the project
the overall length of the resulting CD incl. this 2 second Index 0 at the start.
