Feurio Questions & Answers - General questions
on Feurio:
Does Feurio! work on Multi-Processor-Systems?
Question: I have got a dual-processor
system (or a system with several processors). I have noticed that some programs
have problems with Multi-Processor-Systems. What about Feurio? Does Feurio! work
correctly on a system with several processors?
Answer: Our development computers
are mainly dual processor systems - Feurio! has therefore mainly been developed
and tested on dual processor computers - so Feurio! works without problem on
multi processor systems!
(Note: To use several processors, the operating system used of course has to
support several processors - this is currently only the case with Windows NT
and Windows 2000. Windows 95, 98 and Millenium do NOT support multi processor
systems!)
Comment: Unfortunately there are
also IDE- / SCSI drivers which are not "multiprocessor capable". Feurio! can
of course only work correctly if the system drivers are working correctly.
Question: Feurio! occasionally crashes.
Is it possible that this is because Feurio! is not "multiprocessor-capable"?
Answer: No. As explained above, Feurio!
has mainly been developed (and tested) on dual processor systems. The special
requirements when synchronizing objects on multi processor systems was also taken
into consideration right from the start. So it really can't be due to Feurio!
- it is more probable that the driver used is not "multiprocessor-capable".
