Feurio Questions & Answers - General questions
on Feurio:
Is there a network-capable version of Feurio?
Question:
- I created a project with Feurio!® on one computer
and want to burn it on another system - is this possible?
- Can I use the databases from other computers in my Feurio! version?
- I have set the Feurio!® database path to a network
drive but when I start Feurio! on the second computer, I get an error message,
why?
- Can't I "remote control" a burner installed in another computer?
Answer:
NO.
Feurio! is designed as an individual application.
Of course it would theoretically be possible to create a "network capable" version
- this however requires A LOT of effort (particularly with databases). There
are more important things to do in Feurio!® at the
moment.
Comment: A Feurio! project created on a computer can be burned on another computer
if the Feurio! project file (*.dl in the project path) is copied into the project
path of the target computer AND all wave files of the project are copied to EXACTLY
THE SAME paths of the target computer (i.e. if the data can be found on computer
A under "c:\wave\My Project", it must also be copied on Computer B into this
path!
Question: I released my CD writer on computer A, in Windows Explorer of computer
B I can see it - but in Feurio!® I can not select
the writer. Why not?
Answer: The Windows release is an "abstract" release on
file level. This is how the files which a drive makes available are made accessible
to other computers. To burn a CD however direct communication with the CD writer
would be necessary - this is NOT provided by the Windows release!
"Remote control" of the writer is theoretically possible with the development
of special protocols - but here the same applies - the effort required would
be tremendous. Furthermore, burning a CD is a very time critical process - the
burning process would probably be aborted as soon as even the smallest net load
occurred.
