Feurio Questions & Answers - Feurio! CD-Manager problem-solving:
Feurio!® can't find the wave files of a project any more

Question: I bought myself a new harddisk and thereby re-coded the project folders. (Or for any other reason the drive letter has changed). Now Feurio!® can't find the wave files of a project any more when I next start the computer. (Error message:File could no be opened): What should I do?

Answer: In every project there is a list of paths in which Feurio!® looks for the files. If the drive letters have changed, then the new path may no longer be in the project list and therefore the files can't be found.
Solving the problem:
  1. Include the new drives in the list of drive authorized for Feurio!® to use (Menu: "Program", Entry "Determine data paths". Then select the new drives and click "Accept drives".
  2. Now select the respective project in the project , press "Project parameters" and then select the new paths (Hold the control key pressed).

If this doesn't work:
Feurio!® normally saves the files names "relatively", i.e. only the name is saved in the project list and not the whole path of the file. On starting, Feurio!® automatically searches through all project folders and thus finds the files.
If, however, the files are included as a "Reference" in a project, (e.g. using the "Copy/Shift" function), then the waves files are no longer in one of the project's folders. This is why in this case Feurio!® saves the absolute file path (incl. drive letter) in the project file. In this case, you should proceed as follows:
  1. End Feurio!.
  2. Open the respective project file (File: <Project name>,.cdl in the folder "Projects") with a text editor (for "Open with", select the entry "Notepad")
  3. Here you will now find entries such as: "W:K:\\WAVE\\Test\\Test.wav". All entries which start with "W:", describe the path of a wave file. Simply enter the new path of the file here. (Caution: As given in the example, the path dividers (Backslash, "\") have to be entered twice).
  4. Save the changed file, close the text editor.
  5. Restart Feurio!®
