Feurio Questions & Answers - Feurio! CD-Writer
problem-solving:
Why can't I select the write speed "1x"?
Question: I want to burn a CD at 1x (single speed), but in the speed selection
box the smallest speed available is "2x" (double speed). Why is 1x missing here?
Answer: Several burners no longer support writing at 1x. If Feurio! "knows"
that a burner doesn't support 1x, then logically "1x" is not available for selection.
NOTE: Other programs are often not as "intelligent" and often offer "1x" for
selection. Before you write us a Mail: "In program xyz I can select 1x but not
in Feurio!" - run a test first and measure it! The problem is: The writer accepts
the command "Set the speed to 1x" - but it still burns at 2x!
So use the other program to burn a CD at 1x and at 2x - you will see that the
times are (approximately ) the same.
We really can't change this - only the vendors of the CD writers can do this.
