Version 1.51:

Feurio! CD-Manager:

  • CDDB database import function improved:
    Since some time the operators of FreeDB provide an updated CD database for downloading (ftp://ftp.freedb.org). The database is not available as a single file, but as one (quite old) "basic file" and several update files, each containing the new entries.
    To import the FreeDB files, two improvements have been made to the CDDB import function:
    Several TAR files can be selected and imported as once (i. e. to completely import all data you simply have to download all files from FreeDB and select them then).
    Updating the database implemented:
    Up to now, importing new data erased the old database. Now Feurio! asks (if there is already something stored in the CDDB database) whether the old data should be erased or "mixed" with the new entries if a new file is imported.

  • CDDB settings dialog improved:
    Now the CDDB settings dialog contains "Default buttons" for CDDB and FreeDB, so entering the server adresses and so one is not necesseray anymore. (Of course the "User defined" setting, where you can enter server adresses manually, is still available, so other servers can still easily be used.)

  • CDDB submit implemented:
    >From now on the entered CDs can be transferred to the CDDB database and placed to other user's disposal.
    Note: At the moment it is (for "political" reasons) not possible to submit data to the "original" CDDB database - the transfers will be ignored by the server, because we refused to sign the new (restrictive) license agreement. For details see: "Frequently Asked Questions - When will CDDB2 be supported?".
    Therefore transfering data is presently only possible to the FreeDB database. (As mentioned above, this is neither a technical problem nor a bug of Feurio - the server simply rejects the data send by Feurio! - unfortunately the operators of CDDB refuse to add Feurio! to the list of programs that are accepted by the database.
    The transfer can be activated from the CD-Edit dialog (Button "Edit" in the CD-Directory).

  • CD-/ Wave-Player improved: "Tool-tips" for track titles
    The title selecton of the CD-/ Wave-Player has been improved: If the mouse is moved over a track button, the player shows the track title as a "tool-tip".

  • Odds & Ends:
    CDDB request for project added:
    With "Project" -> "Special commands" -> "Execute CDDB request for project" a CDDB request for a complete project can be carried out. This is useful, if an image of an unknown CD was read by Feurio! CD-Writer.
    Project parameters -> UPC-Code input:
    The UPC-Code can now be entered directly in the "Project parameters" (in the extended view).
    Filename generation - new variables
    By popular request new variables for the filename generation have been introduced:
    "%D" -> CD-Artist
    "%E" -> CD-Title
    (In opposite to %C, that always contains the complete CD-Name in the form of "<CD-Artitst> - <CD-Title>").

  • Error corrections:
    Database -> Copy to Clipboard -> Track list partially generated the playing time 00:00 -> Fixed.
    CDDB recognition dialog:
    In some cases the dialog disappeared immediately without one CD found -> Fixed!
    Saving the selected drive:
    Normally Feurio! starts with the last selected drive. Under certain circumstances (access mode: ASPI, Drive-ID: 0,0,0) this didn't work anymore -> Fixed.
    Switching CD-Player to digital playback:
    If the CD-Player was started in analog playback mode and switched to digital mode while playing and the playback was restarted without quitting the player, the player sometimes locked-up at the function "Initialising player" -> Fixed.
    Database view, Mode "Tree 2" and "Double-tree 2":
    The playing times of the selected tracks weren't added if several tracks were selected -> Fixed.

Feurio! CD-Writer:

  • DMA (Busmaster) settings for Windows NT 4.0:
    Unfortunately many Feurio! users have problems with IDE CD-Writers or CD-ROMs under Windows NT.
    Since service pack 3, Windows NT 4.0 has integrated busmaster-capable IDE drivers. Unfortunately, under Windows busmaster operation is disabled by default and cant be activated from within Windows but with an external program.
    Though the activation is quite simple, we have implemented a function in Feurio! to activate the DMA (busmaster-) operation under Windows NT: Menu: "Extras", tab "ATAPI DMA settings".

    The following CD-Writers are now supported, too:
